Vietnam intends to expand oil and gas cooperation with Azerbaijan”

Baku – APA. “We had very productive conversation with the President Ilham Aliyev today. We share same opinion with Mr. President that Azerbaijan and Vietnam have great potentials. This allow us to expand our cooperation, relations”, said the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Truong Tan Sang.

According to him, both sides came to agreement to increase number of delegations’ visits, especially high-ranking visits: “Mr. President noted that we made two important state visit within a year. This demonstrates our relations based on confidence. Foreign ministries also should hold consultations to coordinate our steps taken internationally. Delegations’ visits also should be increased. Different ministries and bodies should held meetings. We must execute signed agreements”.

Mr. Sang also noted that economic cooperation also developed: “Our countries expanded cooperation. Trade turnover in 2014 made $422 mln, up 30% from 2013. We’d like to noted that the intergovernmental commission held its first meeting. Therefore, we intend to expand oil and gas cooperation. This is very important for cooperation. Our relations have strategic base. Because while visiting to oil and gas fields in Baku, our President Hồ Chí Minh had a dream to cooperate in these epheres”, he said.

Vietnamese President also stressed importance of peacefully ensuring the regional security: “We intend the cooperation and friendship between Azerbaijan and Vietnam to be expanded. This will contribute to both countries”.
