LONDON – Production from the Te Giac Trang field offshore southern Vietnam has been averaging 33,600 boe/d. This is below expectations, according to partner SOCO International, and caused partly by drilling delays.
Output may fall further in the current quarter due to the need to shut down the FPSO for hook-up and maintenance related to development of the H5 accumulation, and the gradual ramp-up of production from the H5 platform (expected to come onstream soon).
The Hoang Long Joint Operating Co. (HLJOC) and the TGT partners are finalizing plans for the perforation intervals and sequence for the H5 wells and agreeing plans on the level of oil and water production from the existing wells on the H1/H4 platforms post H5 start-up.
HLJOC has completed production logging on selected wells and will evaluate the results for planning additional perforations and/or water shut-offs. It has also completed a successful test of running and recovering a straddle liner and identified various candidate wells for this water shut-off procedure.
A straddle liner run successfully on one well earlier this year demonstrated a reduction in water production and increased oil production. Lessons learned are under review for future wells.
The HLJOC partners aim to submit an updated in-place reserves estimate for TGT this month, followed by an updated development plan later this year. The scope of that program will partly depend on the oil price outlook at that point.
At the Ca Ngu Vang field in the same region, the Hoan Vu Joint Operating Co. is looking at ways to increase production through modifications to the process facilities on the reception platform at the Bach Ho complex.
SOCO, a 25% partner, expects to receive results of technical studies by end-September.
Offshore Congo, the company is in dialogue with the authorities on commercialization options for the Lidongo X Marine field.
The government has requested that the results be presented as a production license application, and the report should be submitted by the end of the current quarter.
Seismic reprocessing following Eni’s discoveries on neighboring blocks should be completed by the end of the year.
Detailed design continues for next year’s planned MPS well on the Mer Profonde Sud permit.
