After being "condemned" for excessively high prices, in February 10th, major cooking gas companies suddenly decreased retail cooking gas price by VND10,000-12,000 per 12 kg cylinder to stabilize prices and share with consumers.

In order to share with consumers on cooking gas price increasing in the world market, Saigon Petro has lowered their list price by VND833 a kg, equivalent to VND10,000 a cylinder of 12kg since February 10th, Mr Do Trung Thanh, Deputy Manager of gas trading deparment of Sai Gon Petrol said.

The retail cooking gas price to customers of Saigon Petrol is adjusted to VND415,000 a cylinder of 12kg, causing concerns to other cooking gas companies.

Thu Duc gas has a same decision to discount its price by VND10,000 a 12kg cylinder, while Vinagas is considering the situation.

Early February, customers stunned when price up by VND42,000 per cylinder of 12kg, so pushed retail price to customers up to VND423-425,000 a cylinder, the highest price in more than a year.
