Dầu thô tiếp tục tăng giá

Dầu thô tại New York chùng chình tại mức giá xấp xỉ vá»›i đỉnh cao nhất của 11 tuần sau đợt tăng lên trong viá»…n cảnh tốt đẹp về phục hồi kinh tế cùng vá»›i niềm lạc quan về nhu cầu nhiên liệu, khiến chứng khoán có khả năng sẽ tăng lên.

Hôm qua giá dầu sải má»™t bÆ°á»›c 3,6% khi các chứng khoán tăng giá do thu nhập của Ebay Inc. và Caterpillar Inc. Ä‘ã vượt mức dá»± Ä‘oán của các nhà kinh tế, cùng lúc tăng trưởng trong lÄ©nh vá»±c sản xuất và dịch vụ của châu Âu được đẩy mạnh. Má»™t nguyên nhân nữa là đồng Ä‘ô la giảm giá so vá»›i đồng euro.

“Các nhà đầu tÆ° tin rằng thị trường toàn cầu sẽ thoát khỏi ná»—i hoảng sợ hiện tại và sẽ giá sẽ lên cao hÆ¡n,” Mike Sander tại Sander Capital Advisors cho biết. “Sá»± kết hợp giữa má»™t ngày tăng giá của chứng khoáng và má»™t ngày giảm của đồng Ä‘ô la chắc chắn sẽ đẩy giá dầu lên.”

Má»™t chỉ số tổng hợp được tính toán dá»±a trên cuá»™c phỏng vấn các nhà quản lý ở khu vá»±c đồng euro Ä‘ã tăng từ 56 Ä‘iểm trong tháng 6 lên 56,7 Ä‘iểm. TrÆ°á»›c Ä‘ó dá»± báo của các chuyên gia thì chỉ số này giảm xuống 55,5. Các nÆ°á»›c thành viên của EU chiếm 17% nhu cầu dầu mỏ toàn cầu năm 2009.

Trung tâm bão lụt quốc gia Mỹ cho biết, cÆ¡n bão nhiệt Ä‘á»›i Bonnie Ä‘ã hình thành ở phía Nam Bahamas và Ä‘ang trên đường băng qua Florida tiến vào khu vá»±c nÆ°á»›c nhiá»…m dầu của vịnh Mexico.

Đồng Ä‘ô la Ä‘ã rá»›t giá khi chủ tịch Fed ngài Ben S. Bernanke Ä‘Æ°a ra thông tin, thất nghiệp là vấn đề quan trọng nhất mà Mỹ Ä‘ang phải đối mặt mặc dù Fed Ä‘ã Ä‘Æ°a vào chính sách tiền tệ khuyến khích mạnh nhất trong lịch sá»­ nÆ°á»›c Mỹ.” Đó là ngày thứ hai ngài Bernanke làm việc vá»›i House Financial Services Committee về chính sách tiền tệ.

Trên sàn NYMEX lúc 9h17 sáng giờ Sydney, dầu thô tÆ°Æ¡ng lai giao tháng 9 giảm nhẹ 15 cents xuống 79,15 USD/thùng. Hôm qua, hợp Ä‘òng này tăng 2,74 USD lên 79,30 USD/thùng – cao nhất kể từ ngày 5/5, đồng thời mức tăng 2,74 USD/thùng cÅ©ng là mạnh nhất tính từ 27/5. So vá»›i cùng kỳ năm ngoái, dầu thô tÆ°Æ¡ng lai Ä‘ã tăng 17,8%. Tính từ đầu tuần này thì mức tăng là 4,1%.

Hôm qua dầu thô Brent tÆ°Æ¡ng lai giao tháng 9 trên sàn ICE Future Europe cÅ©ng tăng 2,45 USD, tức 3,3% lên chốt phiên 77,82 USD/thùng – Ä‘ây là mức giá Ä‘óng cá»­a cao nhất tính từ ngày 25/6.

Oil Trades Near 11-Week High in New York After Equities Gain on Earnings

Crude oil was little changed near an 11 week high after rising with U.S. equities and on optimism fuel demand will increase amid improved prospects for an economic recovery.

Oil surged 3.6 percent yesterday as stocks rallied after EBay Inc. and Caterpillar Inc. earnings beat estimates and growth accelerated in European manufacturing and services. Prices also gained as the dollar dropped against the euro, bolstering the appeal of commodities.

“Investors believe the global marketplace will make it out of the funk we are currently in and the markets will trade higher,” said Mike Sander, an investment adviser at Sander Capital Advisors in Seattle. “The combination of an up day in equities and a down day in the dollar tends to boost the price of oil.”

Crude for September delivery was at 79.15 a barrel, down 15 cents, in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange at 9:17 a.m. Sydney time. Yesterday, the contract rose $2.74 to $79.30, the highest settlement since May 5 and biggest increase since May 27.

Futures are up 17.8 percent from a year ago. Oil is poised for a 4.1 percent gain for the week.

A composite index based on a survey of euro-area purchasing managers increased to 56.7 from 56 in June, London-based Markit Economics said yesterday. Economists had projected a drop to 55.5, the median of 18 estimates in a Bloomberg survey.

Members of the European Union accounted for 17 percent of global oil demand in 2009, according to BP Plc, which publishes its BP Statistical Review of World Energy each June.

Tropical Storm

Tropical Storm Bonnie has formed south of the Bahamas and is on a on a track to take it across Florida and into the oil- fouled waters of the Gulf of Mexico, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said.

The Gulf accounts for about 31 percent of U.S. oil output and 10 percent of its natural-gas production, according to the Energy Department.

The dollar tumbled as Federal Reserve Chairman Ben S. Bernanke said unemployment is “the most important” problem facing the U.S. and the Fed has “pushed monetary stimulation to the highest point in American history.” Bernanke was speaking to the House Financial Services Committee in the second day of semiannual congressional testimony on monetary policy.

The U.S. currency traded little changed at $1.2898 at 9:18 a.m. Sydney time, from $1.2893 yesterday.

The U.S. Energy Department said July 21 crude stockpiles grew by 360,000 barrels last week. Gasoline inventories climbed 1.12 million barrels to 222.2 million barrels last week, the highest level since April, the report showed.

Brent crude oil for September settlement rose $2.45, or 3.3 percent, to end the session at $77.82 a barrel on the London- based ICE Futures Europe exchange yesterday. It was the highest close since June 25.
