In the New Lunar year, retail price of cooking gas has increased sharply to VND432,000 – 425,000 a cylinder of 12kg.

On February, 2nd, morning, Saigon Petro has lifted its price by VND3,500 a kg (VND42,000 a cylinder of 12kg) to VND425,000 a cylinder, Mr Nguyen Trung Quan, Deputy Sales Manager of Saigon Petro said.

Dai Viet Vinagas also hiked price the same the Saigon Petro, meanwhile MT Gas increased by VND42,000 a cylinder of 12kg to VND423,000.

Mr Le Phuc Dai, General Director of Dai Viet Vinagas said that retail price of cooking gas lifted following by the world price. Recently, cooking gas in the world market increased by USD145 a tonne to USD1,025 a tonne.

This is the highest price since the early 2011. World price fluctuations are terrible, probably because demand for heating fuel in the winter, as well as tension in Iran caused oil price volatility, "Mr. Dai added.

In January, price of cooking gas has increased VND24,000.
