According to official from Ministry of Finance, the difference of import fuel taxes in the first eight month this year is too large (from 0% to 12%), so if any fuel distributor arbitrarily switch to sell for domestic market without re-export as prescribed, they will make a huge profit.

To prevent this situation the General Department of Customs has carried out inspecting the import and export activities of major distributors in order to seek the violations among them.

Results are expected to be announced in early September. However, the financial sector soon amend the current regulations on temporary import for re-export to prevent fuel enterprises from spleen law.

Accordingly, Ministry of Finance proposed banning on temporary import for re-export of fuel through the sea. Ministry of Finance also said the status of temporary import for re-export is rising recently.
