Colombia's Ecopetrol to import 11 cargoes of oil products in March, export five

Colombia's state-owned Ecopetrol is scheduled to import 11 cargoes and export five cargoes of refined oil products in March, according to a preliminary loading program obtained Monday by Platts.

Ecopetrol's imports include six cargoes of naphtha -- three from BP and one each from Trafigura, Shell and ATMI. Ecopetrol also is importing three cargoes of diesel, one each from Exxon, Valero and BP; one cargo of RON 95 from Valero; and one cargo of jet fuel from Valero.

Ecopetrol is scheduled to export two cargoes of fuel oil, one each to Vitol and Westport; two cargoes of naphtha, one to Koch and one to an unknown company; and one cargo of diesel to Noble, according to the program.

Ecopetrol usually imports three cargoes of naphtha in a month and about seven cargoes of diesel. This month, Ecopetrol is importing more naphtha than usual due to the Reficar refinery in Cartagena undergoing maintenance in different units until the end of the year, a source said Monday.

It typically imports about 15 cargoes and exports about five, according to programs reviewed by Platts monthly.
