As announced by cooking gas distributors, retail price of PetroVietnam gas, Saigon Petro… has reduce by another VDN2,917 a kg, equivalent to VND35,000 a cylinder of 12kg to VND370,000 a cylinder of 12kg since 1st May, 2012.
The decline of price is due to slump of gas price in the world market. Currently, the world price has reduced by USD140 a tonne to USD852.5 a tonne April contract.
Cooking gas price in the world market has soared from January to March by VND90,000 a cylinder compared to late 2011. After government adjusted import tax rate to 0%, gas price in domestic market also lowered by VND16,000 a cylinder of 12kg.
In the early April, price continued to reduce by VND16,000 a cylinder of 12kg.
