June contract (CP) cooking gas price in the world market has reduced by USD100-120 a tonne as reported, but the price in domestic market just reduced a half over the world price reduction due to a shortage.

In the first five months this year, domedtic produced supply lossed about 70,000 tonnes after Dung Quat oi refinery stoppaged for maintanance, forced major importers to purchase immediate delivery contracts (spot) whith price of USD60-80 a tonne higher than CP.

In January, the increase of USD85 a tonne (VND1,8000 a kg) of world gas price has pushed the domestic gas price to up by VND2,000 a kg. In February, world gas price up USD145 a tonne (VND3,000 a kg) has dragged domestic price to inch around VND3,500 a kg. Through to March, domestic price has advanged as much as VND4,300 a kg after world gas price run up by USD180 a tonne (VND3,800 a kg). But to April, domestic gas price has reduced 15% thanked to the reduction of 17% of world gas price. Last month, domestic gas price continued to derease 8.6% as world gas price dropped 14%. And this month, world gas price fell 18% but domestic price only declined 8%.
