Fuel Import and export of Vietnam in July

According to figures released by the General Administration of Customs, crude oil export of Vietnam in July reached nearly 1.25 million tonnes, worth USD1.025 billion, up 12.9% in volume and 26.8% in value.

Total crude oil exports of Vietnam in the first seven months this year was at 5.39 million tonnes, worth USD4.8 billion, increased by 11.7% and 12.8% in volume and value respectively.

In past month, Vietnam also imported about 84 thousand tonnes of crude oil, worth USD64 million. Total crude oil imports of Vietnam in the first seven months this year was at 401 thousand tonnes, worth USD365 million.

As reported by the National Oil and Gas Group Vietnam earlier, crude oil output in July was estimated at 1.38 million tonnes, up 16.0% compared to July 2011, contributed to 9.5 million tonnes in the first seven months this year, up 13.2% year on year.

Beside that, Vietnam also bought gasoline from other market with values of USD714 million in July, while sold gasoline just for USD142 million.

After suspended nearly 2 months for technical errors repairs, Dung quat oil refinery finnally resumed its operation in July 9th. Fuel output from plant is expected to be at 425 thousand tonnes, rose 37.7% the same time last year.

This month, Dung Quat oil refinery stoppaged again within a week (August 8 to August 17) for technical fixes. Major distributors include Petrolimex, PV Oil and Saigon Petro planed to seek fuel supplies from Singapore, Korea, China and mid-East as replacement. Fuel import in August is predicted to increase significantly from July.
