Saigon Petro recently has announced to increase retail price of cooking gas additional VND917 a kg, equivalent to VND11,000 a cylinder of 12kg since June 21st.
The increase will push retail price of cooking gas of Saigon Petro to up to VND351,000 a cylinder of 12kg from current VND340,000 a cylinder of 12kg.
Deputy Sale Manager of Saigon Petro – Mr. Do Trung Thanh said that the retail price has been lifted straight after Ministry of Finance deciding to hike import tax rate of this product to 5% from 0% since June 20th.
Most of major gas distributors have not yet announced to lift or change retail price of gas, but taking to VnEconomy agency, spokesman of a gas company said that the increase of price this time mainly depend on tax policy, not for competition. Other major distributors may announce to boost retail price in coming days.
Since early this year, Saigon Petro have 5 times price increases with total of VND137,000 a cylinder.
