Retail price of fuel to increase record

Retail price of A92 gasoline increased by VND2,100 to VND22,900 a liter since 16h pm March 7th, 2012. And other products include diesel, mazut also increased by VND 600-2,000 a liter.

According to Dispatch No. 3033 issued by the Ministry of Finance in yesterday‘s afternoon, retail prices of petrol products lifted simultaneously since 16h pm the same day.

In detail:

A92 gasoline price increased by VND2,100 to VND22,900 a liter,
Diesel price increased by VND1,000 to VND21,400 a liter
Kerosene price up by VND600 to VND20,800 a liter
Mazut price up by VND2,000 to VND18,000 a liter.

This was the first tim price of fuel adjusted in 2012, so pushing A92 gasoline price to increased to the highest level so far. However, Ministry of Finance said the adjustment is only 12.5% - 41% compared to the increase of world price, meanwhile the actual adjustment is VND4,200-6,500 a liter

Previous, in the regular conference of Government, Mrs Vu Thi Mai – Vice Minister of Ministry of Finance said that in recent two months, price of import gasoline has reached the highest level in years, however, basic price without amount of money from Stabilization Fund is less than VND2,000 a liter compare to current price. In addition, retail price in domestic market is VND6,000-8,000 a liter lower than price from other countries in region.

Mrs Mai affirmed that if basic price after tax and amount of money from Stabilization Fund, is till higher current price, Ministry will adjust price to reasonable level to ensure the interests of State, Distributors and Customers.

The lastet increase of fuel price was late March 2011 around VND2,000-2,800 a liter, pushed A92 gasoline price to record of VND21,300 a liter.

In the world market, fuel has 5 weeks increase continously in price as tension between Iran and Western. In previous week, Brent price reached USD128 a barrel, a highest lever since July 2008 after Iran reported about pipline burning in Saudi Arabia. In this week, price has been easing to USD122 a barrel.

In America, the average gasoline price in the country is USD 3,76 a gallon.
