Nhan Dan Online – Auditor General of the State Audit Office of Vietnam, Nguyen Huu Van, met with his Indian counterpart, Shashi Kant Sharma, in New Delhi on September 8 to discuss measures to boost bilateral and international co-operation, the Vietnam News Agency’s reporter said.

At the meeting, Van stated his intention to study India’s auditor training programme and receive the country’s support, as President of the Asian Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI), to Vietnam’s hosting of the 14th ASOSAI Congress in 2018.

Sharma said Van’s visit would help enhance co-operative relations between the two countries’ audit agencies, as well as among the agencies in the region. Sharma agreed to help Vietnam train auditors and improve their professional audit skills.

He also expressed his support of Vietnam hosting the 14th ASOSAI Congress and his hope that bilateral ties between the two agencies would develop effectively.
