The tap is carried out by PetroMacareo, a joint venture company between PVEP and Venezuelan Petroleum Corporation (CVP). PM-24 well is also the first well at Junin 2 block tapped by an new joint venture company.
Junin 2 block exploration and upgrade project is establisted in 2006, based on energy cooperation agreement between Vietnam and Venezuela. The peak output is expected to at 200 thousand barrels per day.
